We tested the Autonomous Phase Sensitive Radar (ApRES) on the Lemon Creek Glacier to evaluate the efficacy of measuring englacial deformation with this method on a temperate alpine glacier in May. Using 10 MHz ice-penetrating radar, we measured ice depths and verified basal topography to validate measurements taken with the ApRES. This field season served as a training and teaching opportunity for undergraduate students form the University of Maine's Sea to Sky Program. Students learned how to operate both ApRES and GPR during this 3-day experience on the Juneau Icefield.
