About MeI am a PhD student at the University of Maine, School of Earth and Climate Sciences.
My research interests center on combining geophysical methods and numerical modeling techniques to study subsurface processes of glacial ice. With these techniques, I aim to help answer questions about the physics of ice flow and climate records that are preserved in the deepest ice. My current focus is on alpine glaciers in Alaska and the Canadian Yukon, but my research takes me to far polar regions as well. |
Prior to diving into graduate work in glaciology, I received an MS in Education from Johns Hopkins University and completed a 2-year teaching commitment with Teach for America on Hawai'i island. I have an extensive background in mountaineering and outdoor education and am passionate about engaging others in appreciation of and curiosity for the natural world.
MY NEXT ADVENTURE
Antarctica
I'm heading down to Antarctica for the 2022-23 austral summer to help with a field season at Hercules Dome. Our objective is to use geophysical data to determine an optimal site for drilling a deep ice core in years ahead. Stay tuned for updates!
